Being in God’s will
There is no FAILURE inside the will of God; and there is no FAILURE than the so called SUCCESS outside the will of God.
His will for us is good, pleasing and perfect……when we obey. Romans 12:2.
Joseph’s brothers (the sons of Jacob), out of hatred and jealousy sold their own blood brother to Egyptian merchants, to perish there and be forgotten. But God turned their evil intents in to good.
Joseph stayed in the will of God, and the Lord protected, preserved and prospered him even in a foreign land – “the LORD was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did” – Genesis 39:23.
Eventually ,he became the second in command to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. Genesis 41:43.
Later, his own brothers came to buy food in Egypt and he reminded them – “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people[a] should be kept alive, as they are today” – Genesis 50:20
He forgave them and was kind to them.
From a human world view, his brothers had succeeded in concealing their evil deeds. But from God’s view, they were failures.
Romans 8:28……in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
In moments of certainties or uncertainties, our prayer should be – your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10
God’s desire is….. all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:3
