God calls us from the depth of His riches of wisdom and knowledge – Romans 11:33. His riches are boundless – Ephesians 3:8, meaning we can never exhaust to know him deeper and deeper.
This is a place of koinonia (fellowship) of the Holy Spirit. A place of knowing God for who He is and not for what He will do. God told prophet Jeremiah, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” Jeremiah 33:3
All things that we are looking for are in the secret place. He who dwells in the shelter of the most high will rest in the shadow of the Almighty – Psalms 91:1
David said, “You will fill me with Joy in your presence” Psalms 16:11
When David was running away from his rebellious son Absalom, accompanied by the sons of Korah (the temple Choir master’s). From a distance land, the sons of Korah sung in Psalms 42:
1 As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
Paul after being a Christina for 25 years, seeing God working miracles through him, encountering the risen Lord, after being caught up in the third heaven……still says: I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to Him in His death (Philippians 3:10).
Philippians 3:12-14 – Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Moses after encountering God in the burning bush, seeing mighty miracles in Egypt, seeing the red sea part, seeing manna from heaven, water from the rock, after seeing God’s glory when he and 70 elders of Israel went up on the mountain and ate and drank on God’s presence (Exodus 24:15-18), spending 40 days on the quaking, cloud-covered mountain where he met personally with God and received the Ten Commandments God spoke to him face to face at the tent of meeting (Exodus 33:9-11) – Moses again prays “I want to see the glory of God in a deeper way”
Exodus. 33:18 – “I pray You, show me Your glory!” This was not a prayer for material comforts or health. It wasn’t a prayer for success in ministry. It was a prayer to know God more deeply.
Let us desire to get deeper and deeper in the Lord, all that we need in life is in the deep riches of God.
When we leave the shallow places, we experience the depth of the riches of God. Whatever is not of God dies as we get deeper into His presence. Enoch walked with God (figuratively got deeper in God’s presence) and the world could not find him anymore.
