His death brought:
1 Corinthians 11:23 – 28

V25 – After supper he took the cup and said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
V26 – By eating the bread and drinking the cup: we proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
V27 – By eating the bread and by drinking the cup of the Lord in unworthy manner brings guilt of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.

A. Breaking of Bread/Body
Christ perfect body (perfect in health and life) was broken, pierced, tattered, tortured on the cross.
On the cross, he took our sickness upon his broken body so that we can live in divine health (Isaiah 53:5, 1Peter 2:24).
His body was broken so that ours would be whole!
Isaiah 53 Exchanges:
V4 – Took up our pain – bore our suffering
V5 – Pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities, punished so that we could have peace, by his wounds we are healed.
V6b – Our iniquities were laid on him
V8b – Punished for our transgressions
V11b – Justifies us, bore our iniquities
V12c – Made intercession for transgressors

B. Blood of the New Covenant
**Matthew 26:28 – forgiveness
Luke 22:20, 1Corinthians 11:25 – Blood of New Covenant
By his blood, he entered into the Holy of Holies (Mercy seat), thus obtaining eternal redemption – Hebrews 9:12 [We receive all the blessings of the New covenant].
***Blood of bulls and goats could not purchase humans, only the blood of Jesus who came in human form ****
**His blood still speaks – Hebrews 12:24 – A better word – Hebrews 11:4

Exodus 12:13 – The blood shall be a sign for you on the house where you are and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.
C. Proclaiming the Lord’s death until he returns
1 Corinthians 11:26
We should proclaim that Jesus died for sinners by breaking bread.
We should look forward to the promise that Christ will one day return
