The shortest and most concise Prayer in the Bible “Lord, save me!”
When Peter’s eyes drifted from the saviour, he saw the wind, was afraid and began to sink. (Matthew 14:30 – “But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”, NIV).
When our eyes drift from the savoir we begin to sink in life – but when we Cry Loud – Lord Save me! He’s faithful to save and restore.
How deep we have sunk is not important, but crying out to the saviour before we drown completely. “Anyone who is among the living has hope” – Ecclesiastes 9:1.
Had Peter made a long “beautiful” prayer, he would have drowned by the time it was over.
Jesus saved him, but he did not carry him back to the boat – he walked back (walked back to the saviour) . This time his eyes did not drift from the saviour.
This time he learnt experience as a fisherman could not save him, but calling to the Master.
