1 Samuel 3:1 God’s word was rare in those days
Genesis 3:8 God would walk in the Eden and have fellowship with Adam in the cool of the day.
John 10 (Don’t go out of his sheepfold)
v1 The thief and robber climbs over the wall or some other place to the sheepfold. The shepherd goes through the Door/Gate.
v2 A shepherd is a protector and provider.
v3 His sheep know his voice and pay attention to it. He calls his own sheep by name and leads out his sheep to pastures – quiet waters and green pastures (Psalm 23).
v4 He goes ahead of the sheep and they follow him as he leads them out for they know his voice and recognise his voice.
v5 The sheep cannot follow a stranger, actually they run away from him (**Flee from evil desires. 2 Timothy 2:22
v6 Jesus was using a figure of speech:
v7 He said, I AM the door for the sheep (***meaning Door/Gate to eternal life***)
v9 All those who go through Jesus will be saved and find spiritual nourishment (**meaning of life**).
v10 All those who came to the sheep before Jesus (false teachers and pretenders) are thieves and robbers, and his sheep cannot listen to them.
v10 Why the good shepherd came and the intention of the fake shepherd or thief or robber.
**The good shepherd came so that we could have life in abundance, while the thief came to steal, kill and destroy**
v11 The difference between the good shepherd and the hired hand:
v13 The hired hand works for wages, and has no concern for the sheep (**1 Peter 5:2-3**)
v14 His own sheep know him, and he knows them just as he knows and is known by the father.
v16 Jesus came so that all sheep not in the sheepfold could come together and have one sheepfold with one shepherd (**Parable of the lost sheep** in Luke 15:3-7)
