1 Peter 2:21-25 – Christ suffered, thus setting us an example.
Isaiah 53:7 – He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.
Romans 12:19 – We are told to leave revenge to God in afflictions and persecutions.
Hebrews 2:14-16, 17-18 – Jesus our high priest is able to empathize with u for he was tested in every way like us.
Hebrews 4:14-16 – He ascended into heaven and lives to intercedes for us.
Hebrews 5:7-10 – He became perfect through suffering which qualified him to become High Priest of eternal salvation.
Hebrews 7:11-28 – Jesus like Melchizedek. v25 He is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he lives to intercede for them.
On the cross:
They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall; and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink (Matthew 27:34). Mark described the drink as mingled with myrrh (Mark 15:23).
**Jesus refused the wine, so that he could go through his suffering with a CLEAR MIND. Having YOU and ME in His Mind!
