Matthew 22:21 “…Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.”*
A sharp distinction is drawn.
There is a Kingdom of this world Caesar hold power over it.
But there is another Kingdom not of this world and Jesus is the King of that.
Yes, the coin bears Caesar’s image; give it back to him.
Image determines authority and ownership.
Whose image do you bear?
Whose portrait do you bear
Whose inscription do you have stamped on your heart?
Images determines ownership.
” *Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me* .” Says the Lord.(Isa 49:16)
The image we bear will determine our final or eternal destination.
Image determines the fruits you bear.
Image determines the quality of your worship.
The coin bears the image of Caesar so belongs to him.
BUT you are of God since you bear His image.
_The bible says,” *So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him* ….”(Gen 1:27)
The image of God in us had been destroyed by sin.
BUT God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, had quickened us together with Christ, by grace we are saved.
Whose image do you bear?
Accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour restores the image of God in us.
You bear God’s image so give yourself back to him.
You are ” God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
_” *For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s* . “(1Cor 6:20).
Our allegiance must be to Christ and Christ alone.
We should offer ourselves as instruments of righteousness.
We are to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth.
_Oh Lord,” *I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy* *works; and that my soul knoweth right well* .”(Ps 139:14)
We are God’s beloved and cherished in whom God takes great delight.
We bear His name.
Lets draw near to him.
He will refresh us .
When our hearts are attuned to Him and desire Him alone, for the ” *desires of the righteous will be granted* “(Pro 10:24)
