Finally God’s Glory Leaves Jerusalem:

v24 Ezekiel is carried back to Babylon in the Spirit from Jerusalem visions. **(He had been carried to Jerusalem from Babylon in Chapter 8:3)**
Chapter 12:
Ezekiel acts out/pretends how they will be carried to exile by packing the items for the journey.
— Acts by carrying a luggage at night through a hole and covering his eyes.
“Son of man, you live among rebels who have eyes but refuse to see. They have ears but refuse to hear. For they are a rebellious people.” Ezekiel 12:2 NLT
Explain that your actions are a sign to show what will soon happen to them, for they will be driven into exile as captives.

But I will spare a few of them from death by WAR, FAMINE, or DISEASE, so they can confess all their detestable sins to their captors. Then they will know that I am the Lord.” Ezekiel 12:16 NLT
–He acts again by eating food while trembling and shaking while drinking water [The captives would soon eat their food trembling and sip water in despair as the city is being destroyed]
A New Prophesy against what they had been saying : “time passes and prophesies come to nothing”
v23 God would put an end to that Proverb and the new one will be: “time has come for every prophesy to be fulfilled.
v24 “There will be no more false visions and flattering predictions in Israel.
Ezekiel 12:24 NLT
v27 The people thought Ezekiel was prophesying about the distant future, and the visions won’t come true for a LONG LONG TIME but God says – No more delays!
Ezekiel 13 Judgement against False Prophets
v2 They were inventing their own prophecies and following their own imaginations and had seen nothing
v4-5 Israel’s prophets are no better than jackals that hunt for food among the ruins of a city. They don’t warn the people about coming trouble or tell them how dangerous it is to sin against me.
Ez 13:4-5 CEV
v6 They tell lies and false predictions, and expect God to fulfill their prophesies.
v8-9 God will fight against the false prophets by His own fist and their names will be blotted our of Israel Record if Names. Never again will they set foot in their own land.
“Those prophets refuse to be honest. They tell my people there will be peace, even though there’s no peace to be found. They are like workers who think they can fix a shaky wall by covering it with paint.” Ez 13:10 CEV
v11 God promises the wall will eventually collapse and people ask why the paint/whitewash didn’t hold it up.
v14 It will fall on them
Judgement against False Women Prophets
v17-18 Were lying to the people by tying MAGIC CHARMS on their wrists and MAGIC VEILS
v19 They were bringing shame to God’s name by causing death to those who should not die. We’re receiving a handful of barley or bread 🍞
v20 They were ensnaring the people like birds
v21 God would save them people from their GRASP and will no longer be their victims.
“You have discouraged the righteous with your lies, but I didn’t want them to be sad. And you have encouraged the wicked by promising them life, even though they continue in their sins.”

Ezekiel 14 – Idolatry of Israel Leaders
“Son of man, these leaders have set up IDOLS in their HEARTS. They have embraced things that will make them fall into sin. Why should I listen to their requests? Ez14:3 NLT
v6 Repent and turn away from these your idols and these detestable things
v8 God will turn against such people
False prophets and those who seek their guidance will all be punished for their sins. Ez 14:10 NLT
The certainity of God’s Judgement
v14-20 Noah, Daniel and Job quoted for their righteousness would only save them. Not even their children
v21 Promised punishments for sin – WAR, FAMINE, WILD ANIMALS and DISEASES.
v22 Survivors will join those in Babylon
Ezekiel 15 Jerusalem a Useless Vine
v6 People of Israel are like grapevines growing among trees, v1 but trees are useful for they can give wood to make pegs. Useless vines can only be used for fuel which burns
very quickly.
Ezekiel 16 Jerusalem an unfaithful wife
