Warning for Pharaoh

Pharaoh to fall to the pit like other great nations.

“Ezekiel, son of man, condemn the king of Egypt and tell him I am saying: You act like a lion roaming the earth; but you are nothing more than a crocodile in a river, churning up muddy water with your feet.” Ezekiel 32:2 CEV

“Yes, this is the funeral song they will sing for Egypt. Let all the nations mourn. Let them mourn for Egypt and its hordes. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!” Ezekiel 32:16 NLT

“They are not buried in honor like their fallen heroes, who went down to the grave with their weapons—their shields covering their bodies and their swords beneath their heads. Their guilt rests upon them because they brought terror to everyone while they were still alive.”

Ezekiel 32:27 NLT

–Guilts rests with those who do evil while alive.

–Ezekiel 33:

Ezekiel as Israel’s Watchman

“When the watchman sees the enemy coming, he sounds the alarm to warn the people.

Then if those who hear the alarm refuse to take action, it is their own fault if they die.

They heard the alarm but ignored it, so the responsibility is theirs. If they had listened to the warning, they could have saved their lives.

But if the watchman sees the enemy coming and doesn’t sound the alarm to warn the people, he is responsible for their captivity. They will die in their sins, but I will hold the watchman responsible for their deaths.’

“Now, son of man, I am making you a watchman for the people of Israel. Therefore, listen to what I say and warn them for me.” Ezekiel 33:3‭-‬7 NLT

The Watchman’s Message:

As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die?

Ezekiel 34:

–The wicked shepherds to be judged

–God himself will be the shepherd, will care for the injured and look for the lost sheep

–God will separate the flock: goats from the true sheep

–Sheep that trample others to be judged as well

v25-31: Covenant of peace

You are my flock, the sheep of my pasture. You are my people, and I am your God. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!” Ezekiel 34:31 NLT

Ezekiel 35:

— Punishment of Edom for they despised and hated Israel.

–To be destroyed and never to be rebuilt again

“Your eternal hatred [ancient hostility, NIV] for the people of Israel led you to butcher them when they were helpless, when I had already punished them for all their sins.” Ezekiel 35:5 NLT

Ezekiel 36:

–Hope for mountains of Israel

–The Israel were profaning/ashaming God’s name, for their

sins

–Israel restoration assured

–Promise of a new heart of flesh
