The Power of the Spoken Word – Part 1
Taking Jesus at His word: (John 4:46-53)
The Bible records of a Royal official whose son was sick. The official heard about Jesus and he begged him to come and heal his son who was sick and close to death.
The father was concerned about his son and was afraid the he would die. His only hope was Jesus. Jesus did not have to go into his house, but he simply said: “Go,” Jesus replied, “your son will live.” The man took Jesus at his word and departed.
By faith, the Bible records that the man took Jesus at his word and he left. He did not doubt, he believed the words of Jesus, Go and your son will live.
No matter the situation you are in, just take Jesus at his word concerning your life.
Jesus sent his word ahead to heal the son; and when the father was on his way home, the servants met him and told him that his son was alive and the fever had left him.
The official inquired the time that the fever left his son and he was told, it was the previous day at one in the afternoon. What a surprise! He realized that it was exactly the exact time that Jesus had told him that his son will live.
When we take God at his word, great things happen, his promises in our lives are fulfilled. Just believe and take Jesus at his word concerning your life. His word says that you are healed, you are a victor, you are blessed, no weapon fashioned against you shall prosper and you are his son if you believe in Him.
By the word of his mouth, he created the world by just saying, let there be (Genesis 1); and he has said that no word which proceeds forth from his mouth will return without accomplishing its purpose and prospering in doing the thing it was sent to do (Isaiah 55:11).
Do not worry, do not be desperate. Just believe and take Jesus at his word. He has sent his word ahead of you.
